If you’re unable to create a snazzy website of your own, one of the best things to do for your business is to claim the listing. There are many websites to claim your listing, but Google is very important.

Having a business listing on Google will place your business on Google Maps, Searches, and Business Reviews. The more activity noted on the listing, the more times your business will show to new clients!

We’ll provide the easy steps to claim your business on Google My Business.

1. Find Your Physical Location

If your business has a physical space, you can easily enter in a valid address and Google will locate this on the map. All you’ll need to do is confirm the pointer and you’re off.

2. Submit Your Contact Info

While there are many ways to complete your profile, the best information is needed for prospective customers to give you a call. Always include an address, email and telephone at the minimum.

If you need a website, we can help you there!

3. Upload Pictures

Customers are always looking for ways to know what they’re getting into. Sure, your contact info may be there. But what does your space look like? If I’m walking by, what should I look for? This step may seem daunting, but it’s worth it. Have your staff snap a few shots of the exterior and some happy customers, that should do the trick.

4. Get the Postcard PIN

Google has to verify that you’re an actual business and not some internet phony. When you’re ready to “verify” the business, Google will send a postcard to your physical address. It’s a tiny card that will arrive in a few business days. Be sure to keep an eye out and submit that Pin number onto your account.

5. Stay Updated

Keep your customers updated about your business. If your store hours vary, update this in the profile. If you have happy customers, ask them to leave a review. Updated your menu? Be sure to update that as well.

Remember, the purpose of this business listing is to have customers easily find you, at the appropriate times. There shouldn’t be any friction when trying to contact you.
